Commercial Marine Services

Commercial Marine services is where Bailey Refrigeration started over 55 years ago: Ralph Bailey (Bailey's founder) worked for two topside repair outfits in Brooklyn before starting his own company when he came ashore after World War II. In those days, Bailey's buisness was entirely commercial marine with customers like Alcoa, 'The Fruit Company', Grace Lines, Bethlehem Steel, Todd's and American Export Lines. The same year, Ralph Bailey joined with some old friends to found The Society of Marine Port Engineers (SNAME) of New York. These activities were emblematic of an exciting time in the marine industry.

Since that time, Bailey has been doing all facets of commercial marine HVAC service, supply, and installation. Services include repairs, overhauls and conversions in port, underway, and in yard. Our service staff regularly travels to national and international locations. We offer parts and replacement equipment from every manufacturer as well as modified and custom built equipment. Bailey has built over 1000 ship A/C systems ranging from tug boats to passenger ships. And since the Clean Air Act of 1990, we have done an ever increasing number of refrigerant conversions.
